Our Story

Primary Event Rentals was born at a time when the world hit pause.

Just two weeks before COVID shut everything down, Lori Dodds took a leap—starting small with a handful of plates and a vision to serve her community through event rentals. Then came the uncertainty. “Two weeks to flatten the curve” turned into something much bigger.

In March 2020, Scott Dodds lost his job with a national crane and rigging company. Like many families, we were faced with a decision: wait it out… or build something of our own.

We chose to build.

What started as a small collection of rental items quickly grew into a full-service event rental business. As immigrants from Canada, creating stability wasn’t optional—it was necessary. But along the way, this became more than just a way to support our family.

It became a dream.

Before turning 50, Scott and Lori committed fully—pouring their energy into helping others celebrate life’s biggest moments. From weddings and backyard gatherings to large-scale events, Primary Event Rentals exists for one reason:
